Quietness of the Morning

There's a stillness in the mornings that no other time of day can rival. Before the world wakes and the noise starts, there is something almost magical about the early hours. The streets are quiet, the air feels fresher, and time seems to stretch, offering more than it does later in the day.

For me, mornings are a reset. The sun is creeping through the blinds to paint the room in gold. The first sip of coffee tastes better than any drink I'll have today, not because of the flavour, but what it represents: a fresh start. There's this clarity about the morning where thoughts freely flow, and I write best, dream a little more, and let my mind wander without distractions. Ideas feel sharper, emotions softer, and the worries from the day before seem to fade into the background.

But mornings weren't always my favourite. I used to sleep through them, waking just in time to rush into the chaos of the day. It wasn't until I began carving out space to enjoy this time that I realized its value. It's not about productivity; it's about peace.

The world will catch up soon enough: there are emails to answer, calls to make, and things to finish. But right now, in this transient quiet, I feel centred. Mornings remind me that there is always room for stillness in a busy life if one chooses to make room.
