Special Task: DISEMBODIED IDENTITY

While doing the task, it made it easy to keep my identity hidden. I feel liberated and at the same time, secure. Role-Play World (RPW) is a familiar space to me because back in 2020-2022, it became my freedom space, where I can express my emotions, and my problems, and do rants with anonymous users. This space allows me to construct another identity, and also it gives me a surprise that there's a lot within me that I haven't discovered yet. In terms of constructing identity in this space, it depends on the conversation; for example, someone asked me to do pleasure activities online, I used to imply that my messenger was a mess, and I couldn't hop on other social accounts for personal reasons, even though my messenger is working fine and my other social media accounts are set on public. Performing this task allows me to apply the "disembodied" identity by building another identity to cover my personal information. Interacting with anonymous individuals online through the freedom space served by RPW could be interesting, but keep in mind the security of your identity. As a CMC student, I've learned the significance of conserving your personal information; even the smallest detail could put your personal information in danger. This experience in RPW and the task given by the study signifies vital lessons.
